LALS Minor Requirements

The minor in Latin American and Latino Studies consists of seven courses.
Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is recommended, but not required for the minor.

 

Lower-Division Course Requirements

  • Two Lower-Division Courses: choose from
    • LALS 1 - Intro to Latin Ameican and Latino Studies
    • LALS lower-division course
    • Pre-approved lower-division courses offered outside LALS*
  •  

Upper-Division Course Requirements

  • One Core Course: choose from
    • LALS 100: Concepts and Theories in LALS - offered only Fall quarter, OR
    • LALS 100A: Social Science Analytics - offered only Winter quarter, OR
    • LALS 100B: Cultural Theory in the Americas - offered only Spring quarter
  • Four upper-division LALS electives or pre-approved outside courses*
